Activities During Lent

Liturgy of the Hours

Join us for Vespers every Wednesday during Lent at 6:30pm. We will gather in Eden Chapel. Each week will feature guest homilists. Typically, Vespers are 30-minutes in length.

Stations of the Cross

We will pray the Stations of the Cross at 2:15pm on Thursdays and 6:30pm on Fridays in the main church.

Weekday Eucharist

Join us for Weekday Eucharist at 7:00am Monday through Friday in Eden Chapel and 8:15am Monday through Saturday, also in Eden Chapel

Sacrament of Penance

Celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturdays from 3:30pm to 4:15pm, Monday of Holy week, March 26 6:30pm following Tenebrae

Join us for Eucharistic Adoration in Eden Chapel

Sign-up sheets are available in the vestibule

Eucharist cannot be left unattended during this period

Sacrament of Baptism

This sacrament is generally celebrated on the first four Sundays of the month. A parent baptism preparation session is required prior to the Baptism and takes place the last Monday of each month. Please call the parish office at (773) 525-0453 to sign up for the preparation.

Mission Statement

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish is a diverse Catholic community of faith in East Lakeview. In union with the local and universal Church, we seek to glorify God by responding to the Gospel and promoting the human person through the celebration of the Eucharist, religious education and formation, and service programs.
