The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process of welcoming individuals who desire full membership in the Catholic faith community. This includes those who have never been baptized, those baptized in other Christian denominations, and baptized Catholics who have not received the Sacraments of First Communion or Confirmation. Through the OCIA, adults grow in their relationship with God, become familiar with Catholic teachings and practices, get acquainted with people in the parish and get involved in service within the parish or the wider community. In the company of a group of faith-filled parishioners who serve as the OCIA team and with other people inquiring about the Church, participants share prayer, faith-sharing, instruction, and discussion and discover how one’s faith is nurtured with the Catholic tradition. Our OCIA gatherings meet twice monthly on Sundays from September through May.
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults for Children program is designed for children who are at the age of reason (7 years old) and have not yet been baptized or catechized and are seeking the sacrament of Baptism.
