Catechists play a crucial role in our parish’s mission of evangelization. They are responsible for teaching the beliefs, traditions, and practices of the Catholic faith to individuals of all ages. They provide instruction and support to help people deepen their understanding of Catholic teachings and develop a personal relationship with God.
Catechists prepare individuals in Religious Education and the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults for the reception of sacraments, including Baptism, Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation.
All catechists are required to complete a rigorous background check and other compliance materials provided by Virtus, the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Training program for the prevention of child sexual abuse.
Catechists are needed for our Religious Education Program, OCIA and Children’s Liturgy of the Word (Sundays at 9:30 AM Mass).
