“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelations 21:4
The death of a loved one is a difficult and trying time for family and friends. The staff of Our Lady of Mount Carmel join in expressing our deepest sympathy to you. We hope you will find comfort in our prayers and concerns.
The ceremonies of Christian Burial normally include:
- A Prayer Service at the wake
- The Funeral or Memorial Mass at the church
- The Liturgy of Final Farewell and Committal at the cemetery
Planning for a funeral is always difficult, and in times of grief, it is often not easy to make decisions. As you begin to consider the things that are meaningful to you, please keep in mind that proper liturgical norms must be observed. Our parish staff is here to listen and to help you understand the rituals that are used by the Church when a member of the body of Christ dies and help you with questions you might have when planning a Funeral Mass.
Please call the parish office at 773-249-7080 to schedule an appointment with us to begin planning for the funeral of your loved one.
